Small shingle beach on Dover's harbourside seafront, below Marine Parade. South-east-facing, with cafés a short walk into town.

What the tide does here

The tide changes Dover Beach less than most: about 13% of it is dry at a spring high tide and 21% at spring low.

Dogs

Dogs are banned from the beach from 9am to 6pm, 1 May to 30 September. Dogs must be on a lead all year on the promenade and seafront gardens, including Marine Parade and Granville Gardens.

This beach is not a designated bathing water, so the Environment Agency does not sample it.
