Littlestone Beach

East-facing sandy beach at Littlestone, next to the golf links. Parking on site, a historic cannon on the green, and the Pegasus restaurant nearby.

What the tide does here

At a spring high tide only about 13% of Littlestone Beach is out of the water. By spring low the sea has drawn back roughly 900 metres, uncovering all of it — about 176 hectares of sand.

Dogs

From 1 May to 30 September dogs are banned from the beach between Madeira Road and Clark Road. Dogs must be on a lead on Littlestone Green, Grand Parade and Marine Parade all year.

Water quality

Classified Poor by the Environment Agency in 2025, sampled as "Littlestone", a designated bathing water since 1988. Daily pollution risk forecasts appear on this page in the bathing season.
