What the tide does here

At a spring high tide only about 14% of Reculver is out of the water. By spring low the sea has drawn back roughly 360 metres, uncovering 75% of it — about 239 hectares of sand and shingle.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome on the beach all year. They must be on a lead around Reculver Towers and in the Country Park picnic areas.

Water quality

This beach is not a designated bathing water, so the Environment Agency does not sample it.

No RNLI lifeguard patrol here.

Nearby: public toilets, parking and a café or kiosk. Uneven coastal path; limited facilities.
