Remote shingle beach at the eastern tip of the Isle of Sheppey, backed by the Swale National Nature Reserve's saltmarsh. South-facing, with no facilities on site.

What the tide does here

At a spring high tide only about 8% of Shellness is out of the water. By spring low the sea has drawn back roughly 960 metres, uncovering all of it — about 155 hectares of shingle.
